Rewind,

Wow, it's been a really long time since I last updated. It's really not easy to keep a blog alive, haha. Well, the blogger app isn't very useful as it can only post words and not pictures. Blog posts will be so boring without pictures, in my opinion. Basically, school's so tiring and mundane. I go through the cycle again and again, attending lessons, doing tutorials, feeling lethargic, etc etc. Can't wait for all these to be over. Actually time really passes very fast, and now it's only 169 days to Alevels and school has already put up the count down banner, ohmygoodness! :( But before that, Mid year examinations are starting next friday, ohhhhshhhiiitttyyyy pie :( A lot of revision, doubts, work are piling up for me to touch and study them. Really have to sit down and mug like a nerd, but it is really hard to sit still :( Shall try and look for methods!

Enough of all the shitty things, here are some updates for the past few weeks. Actually i update quite often on my instagram, follow maybe? :)
For Mother's Day dinner with extended family :) At Blue Garden korean bbq restaurant at tiong bahru.

Oh yes, the seniors (JC2), my batch have stepped down from our CCAs and it was a really fruitful and memorable netball journey for my teammates and I. Though  the trainings were stressful, tiring and demanding but we went through them all, tgt as one. This bunch of girls are really supportive, hilarious and fun. I didn't regret joining netball :) Although we have stepped down but we still have constant meet ups and still chat on whatsapp, haha. The last match was really exciting!!! Though we lost but we lost with pride cause we fought well and didn't give up till the very end. Our teacher was so touched and agitated that she cried when we lost!! It was her first time crying for her girls, she claimed that she was really proud of us and we are the best batch of girls! AWWW <3 and obviously, seeing people cry, we all broke down in tears one following another, hehehe so cute :) Nevertheless, our fighting spirit will remain and hope the juniors continue to work hard and bring glory to the school!! :)

Ok these are the visuals from my sis's birthday. It was a sunflower themed birthday so we were encouraged to dress in yellow or brown. Glad that boy came along and stayed over with me, really see that he enjoyed the drinking session with my cousins, heheh :) There aren't really much updates other than this event and I dont have the pictures in my sis laptop which I'm using currently. So yea~

Alright, update more next time, probably after my mid year examinations!! Have to get my ass back to studying.... boohoooooooo!!! Jc, why you so demanding, why you so torturous, why you so difficult......? :'(

Stop being envious, love your life.

This is an article that I read some time ago and it really made sense! Everybody should read this:

"I keep having the same conversation over and over. It starts like this: “I gave up Facebook for Lent, and I realized I’m a lot happier without it.” Or like this, “Pinterest makes me hate my house.” Or like this: “I stopped following a friend on Instagram, and now that I don’t see nonstop snapshots of her perfect life, I like her better.”
Yikes. This is a thing. This is coming up in conversation after conversation. The danger of the internet is that it’s very very easy to tell partial truths—to show the fabulous meal but not the mess to clean up afterward. To display the smiling couple-shot, but not the fight you had three days ago. To offer up the sparkly milestones but not the spiraling meltdowns.
I’m not anti-technology or anti-Internet, certainly, but I do think it’s important for us to remind ourselves from time to time that watching other peoples’ post-worthy moments on Facebook is always going to yield a prettier version of life than the one you’re living right now. That’s how it works.
My life looks better on the Internet than it does in real life. Everyone’s life looks better on the internet than it does in real life. The Internet is partial truths—we get to decide what people see and what they don’t. That’s why it’s safer short term. And that’s why it’s much, much more dangerous long term.
Because community—the rich kind, the transforming kind, the valuable and difficult kind—doesn’t happen in partial truths and well-edited photo collections on Instagram. Community happens when we hear each other’s actual voices, when we enter one another’s actual homes, with actual messes, around actual tables telling stories that ramble on beyond 140 pithy characters.
But seeing the best possible, often-unrealistic, half-truth version of other peoples’ lives isn’t the only danger of the Internet. Our envy buttons also get pushed because we rarely check Facebook when we’re having our own peak experiences. We check it when we’re bored and when we’re lonely, and it intensifies that boredom and loneliness.
When you’re laughing at a meal with friends, are you scrolling through Pinterest? When you’re in labor with your much-prayed-for-deeply-loved child, are you checking to see what’s happening on Instagram? Of course not. We check in with our phones when it seems like nothing fun is happening in our own lives—when we’re getting our oil changed or waiting for the coffee to brew.
It makes sense, then, that anyone else’s fun or beauty or sparkle gets under our skin. It magnifies our own dissatisfaction with that moment. When you’re waiting for your coffee to brew, the majority of your friends probably aren’t doing anything any more special.
But it only takes one friend at the Eiffel Tower to make you feel like a loser.
I’m a writer. I use Twitter and Facebook and Instagram and Pinterest and my blog as part of my professional life—as a way to connect with readers and be part of a conversation that we’re creating together, a conversation about creativity and faith and writing and parenting and community and life around the table. It’s a lovely conversation, and part of my work involves reading many blogs and commenting on lots of photos and scrolling through status after status.
Some days it feels rich and multi-faceted. I learn and I’m inspired. I find recipes I want to try and stories I want to live. I feel connected and thankful to be part of such an intelligent and creative internet community.
And then on some days, I feel like I have nothing to offer, like I must be the only one who isn’t a graphic designer and hasn’t yet managed to display her entire darling life online with lots of chevron and mint accents. I feel so certain that my life is a lot less darling than other peoples’ lives.
But that’s the Internet. The nature of it. I so easily fall prey to the seduction of other people’s partial truths and heavily filtered photos, making everything look amazing. And their amazing looking lives make me feel not amazing at all.
Let’s choose community. Let’s stop comparing. Let’s start connecting.
Some days when I sit down at my laptop, instead of choosing to be an observer via Facebook, I choose to be a friend via email. Instead of scrolling through someone else’s carefully curated images, I use those few seconds to send a text to a person I really know and really love and really want to be connected to.
It’s not about technology or not. I’m not suggesting you get all old-school-pen-and-paper about it (unless that’s your thing.) It’s about connecting instead of comparing. Instead of using the computer to watch someone else’s perfectly crafted life, enter into someone’s less-than-perfect life. You can use Facebook if you want, but you might find email, Skype and phone calls work better.
The distinction I’m making is public vs. private, not in person vs. long distance. I have very close, very honest friendships that depend on phone calls and Skype dates and long wandering emails, and I’m thankful that technology allows for those connections. But I don’t think you can build transforming friendships that take place only in a public sphere like Facebook or Instagram.
For many of us, walking away from the Internet isn’t an option. But using it to connect instead of compare is an option, and a life-changing one. Using technology to build community instead of building carefully-curated images of ourselves is an option, and a worthwhile one.
And on the days when you peer into the screen of your laptop and all you see are other people’s peak experiences that highlight your lack in that moment, remember that life isn’t about the story you tell about yourself on the Internet. It’s about a million more beautiful and complex things than that, like love and faith and really listening. It’s about using what you’ve been given to craft a life of gratitude and passion and grace.
Remember that the very best things in life can’t be captured in status updates."

Cruise with family

Went on board the Star Virgo Cruise with da family last friday to sunday :D It was my second time there and my family's more than third time there. We were all very familiar with the cruise already. I think Cruise is only fun and interesting for the first time you board it, then subsequently, it was so so alrdy.

Also, this time, fortunately, the cruise stopped by at Redang Island! :D Wow, I'm blown away by the gorgeous sea of Redang Beach!! As you can see from the picture, the water is very clear and it has this blue gradient pattern from light blue to dark blue!! I'm madly in love with the beach! Sadly, and so unluckily, the monthly burden arrived just then, sighhhhhhhhhh :( And the sand is so so soft!!!!!! :)

One good thing about being on a cruise is that you can have free flow of food and drinks! Yumyum, hehe breakfast, lunch, dinner & supper! :D The quality of the food there are pretty good, nothing to complain about :)

Kekek, when you have nothing to do, just go around taking pictures! Cruise is a nice place to take pictures definitely :D

Hehe oopsy, couldn't help but take alot of food! Well, a heavy breakfast is essential! :P

Oh yah, on the last day of the cruise, when we all woke up for breakfast.......................................................................... something super creepy happened!!! :O There were total of 5 of us in the room so of course there will be 5 pairs of slippers right? But................. there were freaking 6 pairs! We totally freaked out!!!! :O And as I'm typing this, I'm having goosebumps too, gosh~~ :( It was damn frightening and we really have no idea where it came from! Omg, I dont want to continue about it, it's scaring the hell outta me :X

Ok blahblahblahblahblah........
& soon, 3 days of relaxation has came to an end and off we go back to Singapore!!

Did you enjoy your weekend as well? :)

Till then,

Gems

There are so many important people in my life currently and never would I want them to leave my life. I can't and I don't want to imagine how will life be like if without any one of them. Family, close girlfriends, and boyfriend. Very very important. Any conflict or any forms of cold war with them would literally break my heart and bring me real low.

I love all of them, xoxo

RANTS

Jc life is really tough... I guess I played too much in J1 and now, in J2, I'm struggling! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, so stressed up, so vexed, so irritated, so anxious, so bottled up :( Life just gets tougher and tougher, why why why? In some point of your life, don't you wish education never exist? Your results doesn't determine what you gonna be in the future? No one focuses on academic achievements but rather skills? It's just so annoying sometimes, or perhaps for me, all the time!!!! I'm definitely not an academics person but rather sports, hands-on, explore and experience kind of person. However, I do not know what I wanna be in the future and tadahhhhh I landed myself in junior college, WOOHOOO............ hell. Oh well, on a happier note, tomorrow's the freaking #@%#$^#$@ last paper for common test, argh! & thank god I've got 5 days rest before another round of hectic school schedule commences. Can't wait for these 5 days! They are all planned up, wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee *throws confetti* :D Alright, back to revision for math! Oh yah, in case you still don't know, I can't do math for nuts, we are always at loggerheads, :( sadddddddddddd lifeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee </3

Till then,
xoxo

11 March (Monday), I'm still having celebration! Hehehe thanks a lot to my netballers, yay!!! ^^

13 March (Wednesday), 12S08, my class celebrated the March babies birthday! The cake was very yummy and pretty, like rainbow cake! It's from Prima Deli, it can be one of my fav cake alrdy. *thumbs up* I realised my class likes to buy cakes from Prima Deli and I think all the birthday celebration cakes are from Prima Deli, hahaha :D

See the pretty rainbow cake :) And the cutesy lunchbox filled with sweets, biscuits and each and every classmate's birthday card for the March babies :) Very nice, keke ^^

Not forgetting our class pictures!!!! :) 12S08 is really an awesome class and I'm glad I'm in this class during my jc life! <3

YAY, so I had around 5 bday celebrations this year! HAPPY GIRL IS ME <3 I love everybody who's currently in my life and close to me :')

My 18th Bday :') (Part 2)

Finally, 10 March (Sunday), my actual birthday and it's also........2nd Anniversary with my dear hehehe :) I got to spend it with my fav boy ofc and my extended family <3 Woke up early and headed to Sea Aquarium with boy. I have always wanted to go there to see as it's the biggest aquarium in Singapore :D Somemore, the entry fee is really quite cheap, $20 student price! Luckily there's still student price and luckily we asked, if not I'm gonna smack my boy who insisted that the student price deal ended, *bish*!

The jellyfishes are damn pretty!!!

The super big manta or idk what you call it. It's a super big stingray and I find stingray to be very cute cause they got such big body but their eyes and mouth which are underneath are so small and it formed a smiley face, ahhaha!

We get to touch the starfish, hehe ^^ I'm so tempted to carry it but we are not allowed to cause it will somehow hurt them.

I didn't notice this fish initially till boy told me to check it out, haha! DAMN COOL :P

SHARKSSSSS

Cutie boy and I :) Sadly, after this picture when we decided to leave the sea aquarium, boy lost his phone! It was stolen, damnit! Curse the thief seriously >:( We spent a super long time reporting it to the customer service counter and waiting for them to check the cctv, etc. It suddenly became a big case where the security guards, the manager, the staffs, etc came to talk to us about the stolen phone, ahaha oopsy! Unfortunately, the phone and thief is still not found, argh :(

So we wasted a lot of time and thus we couldn't have a nice lunch tgt :( Was kinda sad though. Nonetheless, we went to have some yummy korean finger food, grass jelly soya milk, awfully chocolate icecream and hazelnut crumble. They were so satisfying, heheh happy!!! :) After that, went to meet up with family for dinner at a Chinese restaurant :D

I dislike oysters and ofc, I didnt eat them, yucky! Actually, I dont really appreciate any raw food. After that, then went home and got surprised by extended family in my room! Hahaha they gave me a shock!

Yay, I can haz awfully chocolate cake as my 3rd bday cake! I have always wanted to try cake from awfully chocolate, thanks sis for remembering :') Isn't it nice to have people remembering little details about you and things that you once mentioned? <3

Yippeeee, you all can see how happy I was right? :D I was super glad, blessed, happy deep down inside me! :) Totally didn't expect so many celebrations, presents and cards. Awwwww <3
I love my family big time!! and ofc my all-time favourite boy :) Hope there are more years to come!! I want my birthdays to be celebrated with all these people every year! :)
